Story:
The Pisurr in this artwork is referring to a young person’s journey. Pisurr is the young mangrove that grows straight.
Within the artwork you see patterning which represents the journey. There are straight lines which is the path shown and the rectangular patterns are those who guide you.
Just like the biyudth (mangrove pods) it falls from the mother tree, which the sea takes. Some float near, some float far far away.
The mangrove pod when it beaches sometimes it sticks in the sand and grows into a Pisurr, just like our children and what they are destined for.
Sometimes the biyudth beaches flat instead of growing. It’s leaves beautiful red, kamus and with the help of people sometimes the biyudth is picked up and stuck in the sand.
Us as parents it is our responsibility to make sure our Pisurr’s grow straight.
