This song about Kaffry is one of three of the first texts ever to be written in Mpakwithi, a critically threatened First Nation Languauge traditionally spoken by the people of Tent Pole Creek on Western Cape York Peninsula.
The custodians of Mpakwithi are working with Pama Language Centre linguist Xavier Barker to revive their beautiful language, by developing children's books, ebooks, songs and learning programs that will at last make it possible to transmit Mpakwithi to future generations.
